Severe Duty Granulator Canadian manufacturer Rotogran International designed the WO-2260-XHD for under-shredder applications where the granulator is subject to repeated shock loading. Granulators have typically been built to process a uniform flow of material, but a granulator underneath a shredder receives a large load when the shredder processes everything in its hopper. The granulator shuts off when the load is processed, causing excessive wear. The WO-2260-XHD is designed to solve that problem.
What’s new? The granulator. Its rotor has 20 percent more mass and a 15 percent larger shaft diameter than comparable granulators. Solid knife mounting seats on the rotor are machined directly into solid bars spanning the width of the granulator. Stationary blade mounting blocks are reinforced, and the cutting chamber and frame are beefed up. The rotor bearing diameter is increased by 13 percent.
Benefits An approximately 30 percent increase in overall performance and extended granulator life.
