Mama-1700 Modix’s new line of fused-granulate fabrication (FGF) 3D printers joins its large-format fused-filament-fabrication (FFF) 3D printers.
What’s new? The Mama-1700, Modix’s first model dedicated to FGF technology. Production began in August 2024, and deliveries will start in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Benefits Faster, cheaper part production. By relying on standard pellets instead of filaments, the Mama-1700 can print a larger volume of plastic material, allowing it to complete large parts in hours rather than days, at a much lower cost than using an equivalent amount of filament. A broader range of materials, including high-density filled pellets and recycled materials, is available in pellet form. Modix has set the price of the Mama-1700 at $47,000.
