Director Vactec's new diverter valve is compatible with both new and existing vacuum conveying systems and can accommodate as many as 12 materials. The standard units feed a single destination; optional configurations are designed for multiple destinations. Vactec offers both manual and automatic configurations, as well as horizontal and vertical models. Standard sizes range from 1.5 inches to 4 inches. A Director-V-430S is shown; it is a stainless-steel vertical model with four 3-inch inlets. For abrasive materials, valves also are available with NiTec finishes.
What's new? The diverter valve, which is making its debut this summer.
Benefits Traceability and ease of use. While Vactec offers a control for the Director, the diverter valve also is compatible with controllers from other suppliers. Switches can be added at each of the valve's inlets to verify that material goes to the right locations, and purge cycles — performed either manually or automatically — ensure contaminant-free material changes. For even greater process-management capabilities, the valve can be used in concert with an in-line weighing system. And because all connections are hard piped, the valve eliminates the need for flexible hoses that can become tangled.
