Mixing barrier screw (MBS) G16S Engel has expanded its line of plasticizing screws for injection molding machines with the MBS G16S, which is designed for incorporating masterbatches into the melt and is suited for the requirements of the packaging industry. Engel developed the screw'sgeometry and dynamic shear mixing head in collaboration with a customer and Johannes Kepler University, Linz, Austria. The screw is available in diameters from 35mm to 90mm.
What's new? The screw geometry and the use of a new laser method for welding metal carbides onto the screw flights. The company introduced the MBS G16S at the K show.
