Italian manufacturer Amut SpA has debuted its new rPO polyolefin pelletizing line, designed to integrate with the company’s washing and sorting systems.
Amut describes its energy-efficient “bales-to-granules” system as a purpose-built pre-treatment unit with advanced extrusion technology. It uses the company’s new granulAItion software.
It is expected to be used primarily in mechanical recycling operations, particularly for challenging post-consumer LDPE, HDPE and some PP applications.
It is designed for blown film and rigid polyolefin applications and can handle up to 6 percent moisture in the input material.
The rPO line has a dedicated pre-treatment unit, two-stage extruder system, dual-stage filtration and advanced degassing, according to Amut. Filtration is with an RAS automatic, self-cleaning melt filter from Italian manufacturer Fimic.
The line is available in three sizes with the following potential throughputs: 1.1 tons per hour, 1.6 tons per hour and 2.2 tons per hour.
Area manager Alessandro Zanzi said rPO completes Amut’s end-to-end, bales-to-granules solution and closes the loop in polyolefin recycling.
