EC sprue bushings These new Cumsa bushings help the ejector pin release plastic pillars in the runners when using a mold with banana- or cashew-shaped gates. Designed to facilitate material flow and reduce stress concentration, such gates are particularly useful in molds for parts with complex geometries or thin walls. They are automatically de-gated and can be placed in hidden areas that do not interfere with a part’s surface appearance requirements.
What’s new? The components, available since October. The bushings come in several sizes and two versions: with or without a collar.
Benefits Cost and time savings, by preventing ejector pins from breaking or ejector holes from seizing up, due to the force that’s normally necessary to extract plastic waste when using C-shaped gates. The new bushings make this process easier, with less risk of damage. Also, the components are easy to position and adjust.
