Okuma America Corp. has been named a 2023 Top Workplace, receiving awards in both the manufacturing industry and compensation and benefits categories. Okuma was one of a field of 60 top employers with 150 to 499 employees.
Jim King, president and COO of Okuma, shared his thoughts on receiving these awards, stating, “We’re incredibly fortunate to have such an excellent team here at Okuma, and it’s a privilege to serve them in my role. … While these endeavors are done for the sake of our team members and customers, we’re grateful to be recognized in these areas and to receive these national Top Workplace awards.”
Top Workplaces, a U.S.-based employer recognition organization, granted the awards based on feedback from participating companies' employees. Nearly 80 percent of Okuma's employees completed the survey, which was well beyond the minimum rate of 35 percent participation to be considered for the award.
Charlotte, N.C.-based Okuma manufactures CNC machine tools, controls and automation systems.
