deviceWise Telit’s Industrial Internet of Things platform can be used as a central clearinghouse for data gleaned from all types of industrial equipment. It comes with hundreds of industrial drivers to allow data collection from any type of PLC, CNC, robot, torque tool, bar-code, radio frequency identification, sensors and other devices. It can be integrated with other IT systems, such as enterprise resource planning and manufacturing execution systems. Offerings within the platform include deviceWise Edge, an industrial platform that reduces latency and increases factory operations throughput; deviceWise Cloud, a cloud-based service that manages remote access, data collection, device and connectivity management from the edge to the cloud; and deviceWise View, which offers real-time machine monitoring, bidirectional control and varying levels of data access, according to users’ roles within a plant. A full supervisory control and data acquisition HMI system, deviceWise View came out in the fall.
What’s new? Smart Start, a preconfigured, customized app Telit released in June. Designed for preventive maintenance, it monitors the function of industrial machines and sends alerts in advance about patterns that might indicate future problems.
Benefits Improved productivity and overall equipment effectiveness, as well as a reduction in unplanned downtime, thanks to preventive maintenance.
