Calibry Nest Thor3D’s Nest software runs on its Calibry line of 3D scanners and on PCs for viewing and editing models of scanned objects. The U.S. distributor for Moscow-based Thor3D is Physimetrics.
What’s new? Version 3.4, which comes with a wide range of new features. The new welcome screen makes it simple for users to find their latest project, access a tutorial function and to read updates from Thor3D. An undo/redo function for selection tools lets users cancel their last action, rather than starting over. The bridge function lets users patch holes in scans by drawing a line that connects two sides of a large hole; the software’s algorithms can then fill in the remaining gaps.
Benefits Increased capabilities and speed. In addition to the new features, the software’s algorithms have been optimized to improve performance. The company says functions that used to take five minutes can now be completed in less than a minute.
