The company recently delivered two of the new extruders to customers in the U.S., Beier America VP Fraser Reid said.
Models SJZ65/132 and SJZ80/156 have new standard features, including electrical components approved by Underwriters Laboratories and the Canadian Standards Association.
Beier America is the exclusive North American distributor for Beier Machinery Co., Zhangjiagang, China. The new SJZ extruders are manufactured in China according to Beier America’s specifications.
The North American models include high-end gearboxes made by Sun Lung Gear Works Co. Ltd., Tainan, Taiwan.
The new gearboxes offer:
• low-friction operation and long life;
• transmission efficiency of greater than 97 percent;
• a high torque rating of greater than 11,000 newton meters;
• and quiet operation, with noise levels under 70 decibels.
Features include:
• Siemens motors, drives and optional Siemens PLCs;
• vacuum pumps manufactured by Speck Pumpen Verkaufsgesellschaft GmbH, Neunkirchen am Sand, Germany;
• slide-out vacuum components for easy access;
• the ability to process rigid PVC regrind;
• 10 die zones;
• and removable panels.
The SJZ65/132 can handle throughputs of up to 770 pounds per hour and the SJZ80/156 can process up to 1,200 pounds per hour.
“We feel that these rates are ideally suited for the rigid PVC profile and tubing manufacturers,” Reid said.
