Entek Manufacturing announced an update to its Screw Layout Designer software, which was introduced in 2018. The new Screw Layout Designer 2.0 lets users input relevant data on screw and barrel layouts, then creates the optimum screw configuration for specific twin-screw extruder applications, along with visual drawings and spreadsheet layouts.
The update incorporates the most common requests customers of the Lebanon, Ore.-based manufacturer of turnkey extrusion systems, twin-screw extruders and components had for the program.
The software simplifies the design process with drag-and-drop functionality for all components customers must specify, including barrel sections, screws and metallurgy. Users can save or print a list of materials and item numbers to make ordering replacement parts easier.
