Maag strengthens market position with Ettlinger buy

In a move that further strengthens the company's presence in the polymer filtration market, Maag Pump Systems AG, Oberglatt, Switzerland, has acquired Ettlinger Kunststoffmaschinen GmbH.

Ettlinger, based in Königsbrunn, Germany, is best known in North America for its melt-filtration systems, commonly used to process highly contaminated material streams, and in extrusion when pressure-stable filtration is required. The company also manufactures specialized injection molding equipment for making very large parts.

Maag, which manufactures gear pumps as well as pelletizing and filtration systems, is a business unit of the Dover Corp., based in Downer's Grove, Ill.

The two companies will continue to operate under their existing brand names.
