VK4II Milltronics' newest entry in its VK series of knee mills offers three-axis control and can be operated in one of three modes: manual, teach or full CNC. It features MillSlide, which increases rigidity and allows for a programmable Z-axis that also can be operated with a quill handle. The VK4II is powered by a back-geared motor with 7.5 horsepower and has a 54-inch-by-12-inch table with a capacity of 1,500 pounds.
What's new? The second generation of the VK4, which was introduced over the summer. Milltronics says the new version contains more than two dozen technological upgrades, most notably its 8200-B CNC control, which allows operators to use conversational G-code programming or download tool paths created in a CAM system.
Benefits Easy training and multiple configuration possibilities. The 8200-B control's teach mode makes it easy to train new users, and available options include a flood-coolant and drip pan, a table guard, and a power-knee and power-draw bar.
