Emergent Vision Technologies software ensures higher-quality images from vision systems

Jan. 18, 2024
Updates for cameras used in inspections improve data performance and video compression.

eCapture Pro software Emergent Vision Technologies, a manufacturer of high-speed cameras and vision systems, has developed its eCapture Pro software to offer an intuitive graphical interface and easy system integration for 10GigE, 25GigE, and 100GigE cameras that deliver high-speed and high-resolution images. These cameras can be used by plastics processors for inspecting finished parts, automated sorting, vision-guided robots, metrology, and packaging inspections.

What’s new? Software updates. Emergent’s eCapture Pro now supports GPUDirect, real-time messaging protocol (RTMP) streaming and H.265 and H.264 video codecs – all of which can improve image data performance and quality.

Benefits Elimination of data bottlenecks, latency and jitter in imaging applications. GPUDirect’s ability to bypass the central processing unit (CPU) and memory by routing data straight from a camera to a graphics processing unit (GPU) speeds up image acquisition. H.265 and H.264 deliver up to 50 percent better video compression while maintaining video quality, while RTMP allows users to stream high-speed video to YouTube and other live streaming platforms.
