BCN3D updates its Epsilon series of printers

Jan. 27, 2023
Improvements include updated motor drivers and the Autocalibration XYZ feature, which can cut set-up time from 40 minutes to just 6.

Epsilon series BCN3D’s Epsilon series of fused-filament-fabrication 3D printers offers a range of helpful features such as its Independent Dual Extrusion System (IDEX), with two print heads that can print parts with multiple materials and soluble supports, or the same material in duplication mode or mirror mode. The series includes the Epsilon W50 and Epsilon W27 models, which can be seamlessly integrated with the company’s Smart Cabinet, which keeps filaments dry and ready to print.

What’s new? A range of improvements to the electronics system, starting with a new main board. This custom-made board replaces several commercial components that were used in earlier models, consolidating those functions on a single, more efficient main board. Updated motor drivers are quieter and provide greater efficiency and better engine torque, a new ventilation system avoids introducing turbulence inside the build chamber, and the new Autocalibration XYZ feature drops set-up time from 40 minutes to just 6 minutes with the push of a single button, eliminating human error from the process and improving first layer adhesion.

Benefits Faster, more accurate printing.
