Quantum acquires 3D printer maker BCN3D
Assets and operations of BCN3D, a manufacturer of 3D printing technologies, have been acquired by Quantum. The sale follows a “strategic realignment in response to evolving market conditions,” according to a BCN3D press release.
Quantum, a newly formed Spanish company backed by private investors with ties to Industry 4.0 initiatives, is aimed at ensuring the sustainable growth of strategic industrial assets.
All of BCN3D’s assets — including the recently inaugurated headquarters and production center in Lleida, Spain — remain intact, along with the employee team.
BCN3D’s flagship fused-filament-fabrication printers for the light industrial market are the Epsilon Series, for technical one-off models, and the Omega I60, designed for users transitioning to consistent production runs, in markets including automotive, engineering and product design. The company is based in Barcelona, Spain.
