NXE400 Nexa3D’s newest large-format 3-D printer employs a proprietary form of stereolithography to produce parts that can be used for rapid prototyping, production tooling and full-scale manufacturing, among other applications. With a build size of about 10.6 inches by 6.3 inches and a maximum Z height of 14.9 inches, the NXE400 can create parts with a volume 2.5 times greater than competitors, with a maximum volume of 16 liters.

What’s new? The printer, which debuted in November at formnext in Frankfurt, Germany. The company’s proprietary Lubricant Sublayer Photocuring technology includes a UV light array that optimizes uniformity of light output, and a self-lubricating build tank membrane that prevents the printed part from sticking to the tank.

Benefits Speed. Nexa3D says the printer can reduce the time it takes to produce functional prototypes from hours to minutes, with a print speed that is six times faster than competitors. Print speeds can reach up to 1 centimeter per minute in the Z dimension. The company offers three proprietary resins, one optimized for speed of production, another for tough end uses and a third that offers a compromise of those qualities.
