Hyperion Designed for large-format 3-D printing, Titan Robotics' Hyperion printer has a compact footprint of 45 inches by 45 inches by 61 inches. The fused-filament-fabrication machine can handle a wide variety of materials, including polylactic acid, ABS, PC, nylon and PET glycol. Applications include rapid prototyping and the manufacture of end-use parts for industries such as the automotive and aerospace sectors.
What's new? A custom version, which shipped in December, features numerous upgrades, including an increased build volume of 2 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet. Also, the machine now has stronger belts, an automatic bed-leveling system and a heavy-duty, precision-machined steel frame.
Benefits The ability to print bigger parts. Also, the compact printer has a travel speed of up to about 59 inches per second and a print speed of about 4.7 inches per second. Featuring a heated, enclosed chamber, it can handle very strong materials, like PC, and print parts with better layer adhesion and no warpage.
