3DP Workbench With a heated build space of about 3.3 feet by 3.3 feet by 1.6 feet, this new fused-filament fabrication printer from 3D Platform can print full-scale prototypes or mass-produce end-use parts. The dual-extruder-head printer, which costs $27,000, can lay down layers to a precision within 70 microns. What's new? The series, which was released in March.

Benefits Flexibility, convenience and mobility, along with quality, high-resolution prints. With its two-part, folding gantry configuration, the printer can fit through a standard door, so it can be set up wherever it's convenient. It also comes with its own workbench, complete with 12 built-in drawers and cabinets for storing tools and materials. An open print bed allows the user to embed inserts, such as metal, electronics, fasteners or sensors, and its closed-loop control software provides positional feedback every 1.25 microns, enabling fast and reliable printing.
