3D Systems' latest version of its CNC programming software is designed for additive and subtractive production machining.

GibbsCAM 2015 3D Systems' latest version of its CNC programming software is designed for additive and subtractive production machining. It can provide modeling for any number of applications, including milling on as many as five axes, high-speed machining, multi-task machining and wire-electrical discharge machining, or EDM.

What's new The upgraded software package, which is powered by the new Universal Kinematic Machine (UKM), has been available for purchase for a couple months. Some of the new features include integration of the Adveon library of tools and tool assemblies and customized monitoring of key conditions.

Benefits Single-interface programming and more accurate simulations and renderings, making the task of machine programming easier and less time-consuming. The UKM allows the software to visualize and model complex machines, including Swiss-style machines, as well as tools that have not even been invented yet. In addition, through a new Stops and Watches feature, users can display, measure, trace and analyze the active relationship between a pair of fixtures or tools in the machine model during simulation.
