Apex acquires Desco, boosting 3-D capabilities

May 28, 2015

Two companies that specialize in making machines that can print on 3-D surfaces are uniting. Apex Machine Co. Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., acquired Desco Equipment Corp., Twinsburg, Ohio.

Apex supplies printers and product-handling machinery to companies in the automotive, cosmetics, health care and food and beverage industries, among others, while Desco makes printers for caps and containers.

With the acquisition, which was effective in April, Desco has begun operating under the name Desco Machine Co. LLC. The move is expected to increase both companies' service capabilities. In addition, Desco will have access to new technologies, including the FlexApex offset-printing process. Both companies will continue operating at their current locations.
