Line-proofing This system from Conair makes the process of transferring truckloads of raw materials into silos more secure. It is available as a standalone system or as a retrofit for Conair's FLX-128 Plus material handling control system. The line-proofing system consists of a PLC module, wiring leads and one electronically controlled interlock device for each silo filling line. The gate on each interlock device normally is locked to prevent unauthorized access. When a truck needs to be unloaded, an authorized user logs into the control, enters information regarding the delivery and unlocks the line to fill the silo. At the silo, a green light notifies the delivery person that he or she can open the interlock gate and unload the truck. After filling, when the interlock gate is closed, it automatically relocks. Companies can customize the shipment data required by the line-proofing software to include truck numbers, material numbers, order numbers, passcodes or bar code scans. The system time stamps and logs every transaction.
What's new? The system, a new type of product for Conair that made its debut at NPE2018.
Benefits The prevention of unauthorized access to silo filling lines and the expensive material mix-ups that could result. The system makes it impossible for truckers to accidentally fill the wrong silo.
