FC 780 E IM2 WM Thermoforming Machines Inc., Stabio, Switzerland, has upgraded its FC 780 E IM2 vacuum pressure forming machine, which has 84 tons of clamping force and is appropriate for making packaging such as clamshells for food. The machine's forming station is equipped with servo plug-assist technology. PNA distributes the machine in the U.S.
What's new? An upgraded three-axis stacking robot. With a stronger structure and increased stacking height, the robot offers speeds of up to 50 cycles per minute and can be programmed with eight different stacking setups. Additionally, WM has upgraded the machine's intelligent interface system and is offering different configurations for forming and cutting. Now the FC 780 E IM2 can be configured to form and cut the product in two separate stations to lower tooling cost, or form and cut in one station to provide more precise finishing.
Benefits Speed, flexibility and efficiency. The robot system's improved stability allows for fast stacking speeds with less vibration.
