Tomra Recycling opens Americas Test and Training Center
Tomra Recycling, a manufacturer of sensor-based sorting solutions, opened its new Test and Training Center April 22 in Charlotte, N.C.
The facility includes a testing circuit with sorting technologies, a parts warehouse and training space.
“Today, we celebrate much more than expanded material testing capabilities and efficiency for customers and partners operating in the Americas,” said Michelle Landon, SVP and head of Americas for Tomra Recycling. “This investment in testing, training and warehouse space at our Americas headquarters is a commitment to a deeper level of support.”
The 4,500-square-foot test center gives customers a place to test waste and plastics materials. The installation features the latest generation Autosort equipped with Tomra’s deep learning AI technology, GainNext.
It also includes Tomra’s Autosort Flake and Innosort Flake technologies for advanced testing of plastic flake materials, and the Waste Analyzer from PolyPerception for end-to-end material tracking.
Mateusz Brezinski, Tomra Recycling’s customer experience director, said the company can now expand training capabilities for internal service technicians, external maintenance and performance training.
A pair of one-day external training programs have been announced: Operational Maintenance Training teaches customers basic machine operation and safety, performance data back-up and system restoration, preventative maintenance measures and fault code diagnostics; Maximizing Performance Training overviews advanced settings and operation, stabilizing and improving performance, and diagnosing machine conditions.
