Ralf Guckert has been named CEO of Vecoplan, succeeding Werner Berens, who had led the company since 2012 and resigned Jan. 30 for personal reasons.

Guckert studied atomic and nuclear physics, and devoted several years to scientific research in the U.S. He moved into the business world at a software company in Germany, eventually becoming CTO. Other management roles included head of business support systems at Ericsson.

Guckert was a member of the board of directors of Vecoplan’s parent company, Max Automation SE, for many years. In 2021, he assumed the roles of COO and managing director, where he played a pivotal part in Vecoplan AG's development.

He has years of experience in digitalization in the industrial environment and strategic transformation of companies.

“To future-proof Vecoplan AG, I intend to further develop our digitalization concepts. Our customer markets are always at the forefront of our minds," Guckert said in a press release

Based in Bad Marienberg, Germany, with U.S. offices in Greensboro, N.C., Vecoplan manufactures shredders and other recycling equipment.
