Key Highlights

  • Nordson BKG and Fimic introduce modular, high-throughput recycling system for post-consumer plastics.
  • System processes 4.4 to 6.6 tons per hour, delivering fine filtration and consistent pellet quality.
  • Three configurations — DO, CO, CFO — offer flexibility from low-cost batch to continuous, automated operation.
  • CFO-Line enables dual pelletizing with minimal downtime, reduced operator intervention and lower maintenance costs.
  • Integrated design with intelligent pump control ensures pressure stability, high-temperature performance and reduced total ownership costs.

Nordson BKG and Fimic have teamed up to design a high-throughput recycling system that can process up to 6.6 tons per hour of post-consumer plastics and deliver high-quality filtration and uniform pellet consistency.

The modular system comes in three configurations. It combines Nordson BKG’s gear pumps, valves and underwater pelletizing systems with Fimic’s filtration units.

The DO-Line configuration, which stands for Discontinuous Operation, requires a complete line shutdown to change the melt filter. This is the lowest-priced option. It consists of an extruder, gear pump, two filters, a second gear pump and pelletizer.

The CO-Line, which stands for Continuous Operation, has dual diverter valves that allow screen changes on one filter while the other remains in operation. The companies said the CO-Line maintains 75 percent throughput during changes. It consists of an extruder, gear pump, valve, two filters, a second valve, a second gear pump and a pelletizer.

The CFO-Line, which stands for Continuous Flexible Operation, has two underwater pelletizers. This configuration allows one line to be operational when the other line is shut down for maintenance. The CFO-Line uses smaller components, which reduces investment and spare part costs for gear pumps and pelletizing systems. It consists of an extruder, gear pump, valve, two filters, two more gear pumps and two pelletizers.

The CFO-Line has the most process automation and requires the least operator intervention.

Nordson BKG, based in Münster, Germany, and Fimic Srl announced the new products at K 2025.

The companies said the three lines integrate seamlessly from the twin-screw adapter flange to the underwater pelletizer. Venting is fully automatic. Minimum throughput is 4.4 tons per hour and filtration goes down to 100 microns.

The companies said the intelligent pump control, modular system design and minimal operator involvement reduce total cost of ownership.

Also, they said the design maintains complete system stability under high-temperature conditions on high-capacity processing lines. Intelligent pump control maintains pressure consistency.
