Engel Austria recognized with environmental award

Plastics machinery supplier Engel Austria has been awarded the Upper Austrian Environmental Award 2021 by the state of Upper Austria for its role in bolstering a circular economy for plastics.

Engel was lauded for its skinmelt technology, which can create parts with large proportions of recycled plastics and a high-quality surface finish by sandwiching the recycled material inside and using virgin material only for the exterior.

“We develop technologies that enable recycled materials to be processed for an increasingly wide range of applications and increasingly high-quality products,” said Günther Klammer, Engel’s VP of Recycling.
