Injection molding machine maker Engel Austria, Schwertberg, has signed onto the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, a pledge to work toward ensuring that all plastic packaging will be reused, recycled or composted by 2025. Engel will focus on providing innovative technologies that boost the proportion of recycled materials in products with a “sandwich” structure; improving process consistency for products made with a high proportion of recycled content; and working with processors to develop products and packaging that use less material and can be recycled.
