Self-Cleaning Friction Cleaner Type SCFC 800-2000 This unit from STF Maschinen-und Anlagenbau GmbH, Aicha vorm Wald, Germany, has been developed especially for the cleaning of post-consumer plastic flakes; it also is appropriate for film recycling. It can be installed after the cutting mill or stationed after the hot- or post-washer. The unit features 87 changeable and replaceable blades that generate a centrifugal force of 1,050 rpm and a self-cleaning screen basket that turns in the opposite direction of the rotor. Water and impurities are pressed through a four-component, stainless-steel screen into a collection system that’s part of the base frame. In the U.S., it is available through Zimmer America.
What’s new? The wash line unit.
Benefits Flakes that are nearly free of water and contamination, leading to higher yields. The cleaner’s self-cleaning ability reduces downtime. The design also protects the screen, meaning operators will need to replace the screen less often, compared to other, similar units. This reduces costs and downtime.
