CAD-AI works with Cimatron CAM tools

July 29, 2025
The technology uses artificial intelligence to streamline mold design, manufacture and delivery.

Computer-assisted manufacturing automation tools CAD/CAM tools from Cimatron streamline the generation of safe and accurate CNC toolpaths.

What’s new? Cimatron’s CAD-AI, a new computer-assisted design technology that integrates seamlessly into Cimatron’s CAM tools. Using artificial intelligence, CAD-AI automatically detects and sorts various mold features, such as holes, pockets and slots. To streamline CNC programming automation, visualization tools within CAD-AI enable users to assign colors to CAD geometry. It is appropriate for 2.5-axis to five-axis machining. Future developments will enable users to teach the system how to recognize specific part features using their own data.

Benefits Increased efficiency; and accelerated mold design, manufacture and delivery. By leveraging CAD data to generate accurate toolpaths and efficiently drive CNC machinery supports, CAD-AI improves machine utilization and reduces scrap. It simplifies repetitive and error-prone design tasks, and streamlines the process of sharing CAD data with the CAM software needed to communicate manufacturing instructions to machine tools.
