CloudNC's plug-in for Autodesk Fusion 360 speeds up three-axis part manufacturing by drafting code to set toolpath, toolset and cutting speed.

CAM Assist CloudNC’s CAM Assist is a plug-in for Autodesk’s Fusion 360 software platform that automates CAM programming steps for three-axis machining, letting users go quickly from a 3D model to a finished part. The software uses advanced computational optimization and artificial intelligence inference techniques to draft codes to set the toolpath, toolset and cutting speeds for making the part once a model of it has been uploaded.

What’s new? CAM Assist.

Benefits Speed to finished part. CloudNC said it has conducted side-by-side trials of CAM Assist with senior CAM programmers and found that CAM Assist users can cut programming times by as much as 80 percent compared to manual programming methods, potentially saving hundreds of production hours per year. CAM Assist can help fill the widening skills gap by helping to upskill less-
experienced employees to be able to more quickly program parts. The company said CAM Assist also can increase machine uptime, slash lead times and improve process stability. The software currently performs best with three-axis machining methods, but beta customers will soon have access to multi-axis and freeform capabilities. CAM Assist can be downloaded at the Autodesk App Store.
