2023 has already been a busy and productive year for the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS). In addition to the association’s constant efforts to protect, promote and grow the plastics industry, it has maintained an ambitious schedule of events for its members with much more to come.
Among these events: the Fluoropolymers Conference in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, the Annual Spring Meeting in Washington D.C., featuring the PLASTICS D.C. Fly-In where members were able to speak with legislators and policymakers about the plastics industry, and the Re|focus Sustainability & Recycling Summit in Minneapolis, Minn., accompanied by the PLASTICS Innovation awards.
With the 2024 versions of these events already in the planning stages, PLASTICS still has more to come for 2023. Here’s a look at what’s ahead:
PLASTICS 2023 Recycling Open House: August 10
This virtual, half-day event is dedicated to spotlighting innovation in the world of recycling and fostering collaboration among the various companies and associations trying to make recycling easier for the general public, expanding our ability to recover and recycle more plastic. The event is open to all PLASTICS members and members of participating organizations, which include American Chemistry Council, Association of Plastic Recyclers, Flexible Packaging Association, Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council, National Association of PET Container Resources, Recycling Partnership, Society of Plastics Engineers, Sustainable Packaging Coalition, and Vinyl Institute.
2023 PLASTICS Fall Conference: September 18-21
PLASTICS members will gather in Charleston, S.C., for the 2023 PLASTICS Fall Conference. This annual event brings together professionals from throughout the plastics value chain for incredible opportunities designed to help participants network with other industry leaders and gain insights into the future of the plastics industry. The event also includes important updates on PLASTICS’ efforts on behalf of the industry in the public square.
Bioplastics Week 2023: October 2-6
Recycling Week: November 13-17
These weeklong social media and engagement events involve PLASTICS members and like-minded organizations in a cooperative, collaborative effort to educate the world at large about innovation in the worlds of bioplastics and plastic recycling. Using the #BioplasticsWeek and #RecyclingWeek hashtags, these events populate digital and social platforms with a wide variety of text, infographic and video content geared toward speaking to a broad audience.33rd Annual PLASTICS Vinyl Compounders Conference: December 4-8
Held in Austin, Texas, in tandem with the Vinyl Sustainability Council’s Vinyl Sustainability Summit, this is an opportunity to gain education and insights across a wide range of topics aimed at helping members, who deal in vinyl, grow their businesses. From economic, legislative, regulatory and market trends, to innovation and new cutting-edge developments in materials, technologies and solutions, participants leave with vital information affecting the vinyl industry.
NPE2024 Registration: Opens September 12
Registration for the much-anticipated, largest plastics trade show in the Americas opens on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
