PLASTICS: Building a team focused on the future
Quite a lot of team building has been happening at PLASTICS in 2022. Key positions are being filled and roles restructured to serve PLASTICS’ membership better than ever before.
Matt Seaholm and Glenn Anderson have been elevated to the roles of CEO and COO, respectively.
With more than 40 years of experience in the plastics industry, Glenn has unparalleled strategic know-how. His service as a manager and leader, formerly at Milacron LLC, working broadly with key global customers and branded companies, is well-respected in the industry.
Matt’s expertise in the legislative/regulatory world, on Capitol Hill and beyond, combined with Glenn’s broad experience inside the industry, have provided a solid foundation on which to build a robust team. In partnership with CFO Wayne Popham, who continues to keep an expert eye on PLASTICS’ budgetary endeavors, their leadership has PLASTICS poised for success.
Signature Expertise, Economic Insights Return to PLASTICS
PLASTICS was pleased to announce the return of Chief Economist Perc Pineda, Ph.D. After a brief stint outside the industry, Perc is once again bringing his prolific research and reporting on the marketplace to the members of PLASTICS. In addition to providing regular updates on the impact of national and global economic trends within the industry, Perc will produce various publications, including PLASTICS’ highly regarded Annual Size & Impact Report, analyzing the contributions of the plastics industry to the U.S. economy. Perc will also represent PLASTICS at public appearances within the thought leadership and conference arenas focused on economic issues.
Expanding the Senior Team
Stephanie Strategos Polis, longtime member of the Washington, D.C., communications community in both the government and association realms, has joined PLASTICS as VP of communications, after most recently serving as assistant VP of public affairs at the American Property Casualty Insurance Association. She is currently in the process of expanding PLASTICS’ communications team, with an eye toward raising public perceptions of PLASTICS and making the people behind our industry, and their broadly beneficial contributions, more visible to the world at large.
Ashley Hood-Morley has returned to PLASTICS in the role of VP of industry engagement. Having left the organization in 2021 to serve as strategic initiatives manager of Eastman’s corporate sustainability team, Ashley has returned to PLASTICS where her broad experience as both a PLASTICS professional and member representative will guide the association’s efforts to attract new members and foster greater engagement among existing members. Ashley’s immense perspective, as well as her industry expertise, makes her an ideal advocate on behalf of PLASTICS.
New Council Leads
Earlier this year at PLASTICS, Leslie Jutte became director of the Material Suppliers Council, bringing with her the extensive expertise she developed as associate director of materials and sustainability. Leslie now partners with suppliers of resins, additives, colorants and other materials. She is also staff liaison for Future Leaders in Plastics (FLiP), serving as point in the continued successful development of an up-and-coming young professional community within the industry.
In June, Whitney Taveras moved from director of financial planning and analysis to the role of director of the Equipment and Moldmakers Council, where now she leads the activities of PLASTICS’ largest constituent group, consisting of companies that manufacture and deal in plastics machinery and molds. Having worked on a wide breadth of association business since coming to PLASTICS, Whitney brings a broad scope of knowledge and well-informed ideas to this key post.
