HemiTor Piranha Color Systems’ pump is appropriate for a wide range of industrial and laboratory applications; within the plastics industry, it can precisely dispense colorants to create custom-color plastics for injection molding. The positive-displacement fluid pump can dispense liquids of a wide range of viscosities and provides a maximum pressure of 30 psi. Features include an integrated pump timer, the ability to run at a constant flow rate and a database that enables repeatable outputs.
What’s new? The HemiTor’s single-use, pump-head cassettes, which eliminate the need to clean the pump head between production lots. The cassettes provide flow rates from 0.025 milliliters per minute to 4 liters per minute via tubing with a 3/8-inch inner diameter. They feature internal dampening at the inlet and outlet, minimizing product shear. The cassettes are constructed of 100 percent PU to facilitate recycling.
Benefits Accuracy and ease of use. When used with the company’s Piranha scale, the pump is accurate to within 0.1 gram, regardless of the volume of material dispensed. Its precise output eliminates the waste of expensive materials.
