Enercon plasma treaters gain new applications

Feb. 17, 2021
By modifying the components of the discharge heads, the company has made it possible to treat parts that were previously impossible to handle, such as those with complex geometries.

Plasma treaters Blown-ion plasma surface treaters from Enercon are used to clean, etch and functionalize the surfaces of all types of plastics and metals. This improves the adhesion of inks, adhesives and coatings. Designed for high-speed applications, they bombard surfaces with a concentrated discharge of ions.

What’s new? The company has new capabilities to produce custom discharge heads. By modifying the components of the discharge heads, it is possible to treat parts that were previously impossible to handle, such as those with complex geometries, or space considerations that limited access to the area in need of treatment.

Benefits More applications for efficient and consistent treatment. The specialized discharge heads expand the use of plasma treating in hard-to-reach, recessed surface areas, allowing new applications for products such as window and door components, siding and automotive parts.
