William Gerald “Jerry” Pryor, who served as president and CEO of Van Dorn Demag Corp., died May 27. He was 81.
Pryor was born in Walnut, Kan., earned a BS in business administration at Pittsburg State University and graduated from the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He worked for 22 years at Omark Industries, eventually serving as president and CEO. He began at the-then Van Dorn Plastic Machinery Co. in 1989 as executive VP of operations, staying with the injection molding machine manufacturer until his retirement in 2002.
Pryor battled Parkinson’s disease for the last 20 years of his life, and is survived by Joyce, his wife of 49 years, their children and extended family. Donations may be made in his memory to the Oregon Health & Science University for Parkinson’s disease research.
