ABB robot withstands tough environments

IRB 1100 ABB’s most compact and fastest robot comes in two versions — one with a 1.6-foot reach and the other with a 1.9-foot reach. It can be used to perform a variety of tasks, including injection molding machine tending, and degating and insertion operations. 

What’s new? A more rugged version that uses the new, very compact Omnicore C90XT controller. The ruggedized robot is completely sealed so that its electrical components are protected against water and dust, giving it an IP67 rating. The “XT” in the controller’s model name stands for “extra tough.”
