ModularChiller 3FX Designed for use with Frigel’s Ecodry central adiabatic dry-cooling systems, the company’s new process chillers are available in a range of capacities, from 25 tons to 139 tons. Each chiller has a single refrigeration circuit, an evaporator, condenser and one or more rotary compressors. Users can easily add units to meet the need for additional cooling capacity, or to satisfy the need for system redundancy. The modular products can deliver up to 850 tons of cooling capacity. Frigel’s 3PR Intelligent Controller automatically monitors and adjusts the chillers as part of an integrated system that includes the Ecodry system, 3FX chillers and the Aquagel pumping, reservoir and filtration package.

What’s new? The units, released in January.

Benefits Cost-efficient and reliable with free-cooling capability. The controller, in combination with a central three-way motorized modulating valve, automatically shuts down the 3FX chillers, allowing the Ecodry units to deliver process water at the proper temperature via ambient airflow. This allows for free cooling and energy savings of up to 80 percent, conditions permitting.
