Supermaster press can mold large parts

SuperMaster Chen Hsong Group, Hong Kong, has launched the second generation of its SuperMaster two-platen injection molding machines, available in the U.S. through Gluco. Suited for large parts such as trash cans and automotive and appliance components, the machines feature clamping speeds of 750mm per second for fast cycle times. Customers can choose from 14 sizes of injection units and 14 clamping units with forces ranging from 772 tons to 7,165 tons. Machines in the series also provide high-speed, automatic mold-height adjustment as well as a compact footprint. The injection unit has three co-linear ball bearings for accurate alignment and a nozzle tip that can be moved beyond the fixed platen by as much as 300mm. 

What's new? Numerous upgrades, including the addition of the EtherCAT digital bus protocol and the new Beckhoff CBmold800 controller, which features a USB interface for recipe storage, 15.6-inch display, keypad and optional touch screen. Controller software offers remote access for servicing, different user levels and a permanent display of key process data. The company also fine-tuned the SuperMaster's hydraulics to make them more precise and has improved the performance and dependability of the servodrive.
