Arburg has canceled the company’s International Technology Days, which had been scheduled for March 11-14.
The company said that after monitoring recent developments with the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, it decided to take the preemptive step of canceling the event. A company statement emphasized that there are no known suspected cases of the disease in the area of the company's headquarters in Lossburg, Germany, and that the company made the move as a precaution.
Technology Days annually draws about 6,000 invited guests.
The statement said that the opening of its training center, set for March 6, will proceed as planned with VIP guests from the region.
