As part of plans to increase its production capabilities, thermoplastic and thermoset tubing and hose manufacturer NewAge Industries Inc. has completed its purchase of and has begun renovating a 90,000-square-foot facility in Warrington, Pa., about 15 minutes from its headquarters in Southampton.

The new facility will dedicate about 22,000 square feet to cleanroom production, with the remainder used for warehouse, shipping and office space. CEO Ken Baker said NewAge is storing one Davis-Standard extruder at its headquarters until it can be installed at the new facility, and has three more extruders on order from the company.

NewAge became 100 percent employee-owned in 2019, after beginning its Employee Stock Ownership Plan in 2006. The company supplies customers in the biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical sectors, and Baker said that includes companies that are making vaccines for COVID-19. The move to add production space was sparked by a combination of increasing demand and customer concerns over security of their supply. Having two facilities will help the company avoid interruptions in production.

The new facility is expected to begin full production in November.
