Goldenrod expands winding roll repair facility, adds large-scale CNC machining 

The company’s equipment serves industries including plastic film and nonwoven production.

Goldenrod Corp., a maker of web handling components, has completed an expansion to increase carbon fiber production, enlarge its repair department and enhance manufacturing capabilities. 

The addition, its second in the past six years, brings the total facility to almost 50,000 square feet, and includes a 360-inch, 47,000-pound CNC machine for mill duty winding mandrels.  

“Increased efficiency means increased production and faster turnaround. We also have added a roll handling section used to demo new machines and products,” said Goldenrod CFO Stephen Pretto. 

Goldenrod Corp., based in Beacon Falls, Conn., manufactures differential winding shafts, multiple bladder air shafts, aluminum and carbon fiber shafts, reel spools and safety chucks for industries including plastic film and nonwoven converting.
