PowerCast XL Introduced in 2019, this stretch film extruder from SML has an hourly output of about 7,496 pounds of film with a net width of about 14.8 feet. It takes up about 2,583 square feet of space and can process materials containing recyclate.
What’s new? The W4000-4S-3T, a new triple turret winder designed for the PowerCast XL line. The winder has three turrets in one frame, allowing the 14.8-foot line to efficiently handle 2-inch hand rolls, which previously could only be produced by machines up to 9.8 feet wide — boosting output by about 50 percent. When paired with the W4000-4S-3T, the PowerCast XL can process film with seven or 67 layers.
Benefits Significantly higher production speeds and flexibility. The winder provides another option for the PowerCast XL, which has been used for machine rolls, jumbo rolls, 2-inch and 3-inch hand rolls. The winder is suitable for coreless winding as well as winding on thin cores. Also, compared with other winders for wider lines, the triple turret’s three 4.9-feet-wide winding shafts are relatively short.
