SPE Extrusion plans first Optimization Topcon
The SPE Extrusion Division will host its first Optimization Topcon June 16-18 at the Holiday Inn Montréal – Longueuil, Quebec.
It is aimed at increasing efficiencies in single and/or twin-screw extrusion operations, addressing how to overcome boundary conditions that adversely affect product quality and attainable throughput rates — melt temperature, torque, pressure and mass-transfer limits (mixing and devolatilization).
Presentations related to single-screw and twin-screw (co-rotating and counterrotating) extrusion, upstream, die and downstream technologies will be presented, along with plant tours and tutorials.
For general information, contact event chair Karen Xiao, Macro Engineering, [email protected]. To be considered as a presenter, send a one-page abstract to program chair Eldridge Mount, Emmount Technologies, [email protected]. For corporate sponsorships, contact Charlie Martin, Leistritz Extrusion, [email protected] or 973-650-3137.
Discounts are available for students and members of the press. A portion of the proceeds will go toward plastics industry scholarships.
