The TDK-500 automatic gauge-control air ring and InstaGauge automatic thickness-control system work together for precise control over the film bubble.

Blown film control After five years of development, D.R. Joseph has released a pair of innovations — the new TDK-500 automatic gauge-control air ring and InstaGauge automatic thickness-control system — that are designed to be used together.

What’s new? The system, which offers a number of new innovations for film manufacturers. The system’s innovative design allows easy, tool-free access for cleaning the lower lip exit technology; isolates primary lip cooling from secondary lip cooling air streams; and includes instant lip-set swapping technology. In addition, the technology allows operators to find and secure the lower-lip setting range within seconds, so perfect adjustments can be made almost instantly.

Benefits Better, more precise control over the film bubble. The TDK-500 and InstaGauge system keep the bubble locked consistently in the forming cone and provide direct and effective control over the film. Also, due to its design, the air ring is easier to install, modify, maintain and operate efficiently.
