Davis-Standard's DS-XEL system adds a high-performance HMI and a range of upgraded features for Super Blue and HPE models.

DS-XEL control system Davis-Standard’s well-established extruders include the Super Blue, which has been engineered to produce custom profile and tubing as well as fiber, sheet and basic wire and cable processes, and its HPE extruders, which feature a small footprint and are well-suited to co-extrusion and multilayer applications. A new control system offers expanded capabilities for both extruders.

What’s new? The DS-XEL control system, which introduces a high-performance HMI, as well as a range of upgraded features. It has become the new standard control for the company’s Super Blue and HPE extruders, and can also be used to upgrade existing extruder controls.

Benefits Improved connectivity. The control makes it easy to connect to supervisory systems, and lets users collect real-time data for their manufacturing execution system (MES) or asset performance management (APM) systems. The control also can accommodate DS Activ-Check, Davis-Standard’s cloud-based platform for preventative maintenance and monitoring. Built-in security features prevent  unauthorized changes to system set-up parameters.
