Engineering software for extrusion gets upgrade

May 3, 2015
Compuplast USA has updated its VEL 3D FEM computer-aided engineering software for extrusion.

VEL 3D FEM module Compuplast USA has updated its VEL 3D FEM computer-aided engineering software for extrusion. The module, which features an intuitive graphics interface, can be used to study the complex flow patterns that occur in a variety of extrusion components, including extrusion screw mixing sections, profile dies, flat dies and spiral dies. Users can perform a detailed study of a complex flow field quickly and efficiently.

What's new?  Now completely 64 bit, the module has been optimized to take advantage of multi-processor PCs. The advanced particle tracking feature can be used to determine the initial layer distribution of a coextrusion structure so that the correct final distribution is achieved.

Benefits  Fast, efficient and precise results. The product is based on the finite element method of mathematical analysis.
