Maag improves melt filter portfolio for compounding

Nov. 10, 2020
Improvements include optimized flow channels, improved safety guarding and a metal hybrid seal system for the company’s FSC-D3-series automatic melt filters.

Melt filters Maag’s portfolio of melt filters for high-output compounding lines remove contaminants and gels from the polymer matrix and aid in melt homogenization. They are designed to provide long maintenance intervals and reliable operation at high throughputs. The portfolio includes continuous melt filters, which allow for screen changes without interrupting production, and discontinuous melt filters for batch processes.

What’s new? Various improvements across the product portfolio, including optimized flow channels, improved safety guarding and a metal hybrid seal system for the company’s FSC-D3-series automatic melt filters.

Benefits Enhanced performance and material quality. The new metal hybrid seal covers a very wide range of viscosities and temperatures up to 608 degrees Fahrenheit.
