Autodesk upgrades its PowerMill 2019 CAM software used for molds and dies
PowerMill Autodesk's CAM software provides milling strategies for high-speed and five-axis machining centers used to manufacture molds and dies.
What's new? PowerMill 2019, which has numerous upgrades over the prior version. Among them is a new automatic tool-axis tilting method for collision avoidance that simplifies the programming of five-axis machines. The new software also has a dedicated suite of additive strategies and simulation tools that address the challenges of programming hybrid machines that have both additive and subtractive capabilities. Additionally, PowerMill 2019 has a new option used to create toolpaths with offsets that are based on both the shape of the part being produced and the stock being milled, resulting in more efficient milling, with shorter machining cycle times and fewer tool retractions.
Benefits Simplified programming and more efficient machining.
