UltiMaker Factor 4 Plus cranks up the speed
Factor 4 This industrial-grade fused-deposition-modeling (FDM) 3D printer from UltiMaker is designed for developing and manufacturing process-critical tools and components. Featuring direct drive dual extrusion, onboard print quality reporting, temperature-controlled build volume and uniform bed heating, it can handle engineering materials and high-temperature composites, such as carbon-filled PET and nylon.
What’s new? A new model, the Factor 4 Plus, featuring a redesign that cuts processing time in half, compared with the standard Factor 4, introduced in 2024. To absorb the vibrations of high print speeds, the Factor 4 Plus printer’s gantry system has been designed to be more rugged. The printer also boasts the TRACE — Technical Reporting And Certification Engine — system, which automatically validates every print, ensuring the quality standards of end‑use production are consistently met. Like the original Factor 4, the Factor 4 Plus can process high‑performance materials, such as high-heat carbon-fiber polyphenylene sulfide (PPS-CF) and chemical-resistant composites.
